SafeBrowsingCheck ("we," "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect when you visit safebrowsingcheck.com, why, and the choices you have. For any privacy question, contact us at marta@safebrowsingcheck.com.

Who is responsible for your data

SafeBrowsingCheck is the data controller for the information described here. We are based in Estonia and serve a largely US audience, so this policy reflects both EU (GDPR) and US (including California) expectations.

What we collect

Very little, on purpose:

• Information you give us. If you subscribe to the weekly letter, your email address. If you email us, the details you choose to send.
• Hosting logs. The site is served through Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes basic request data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse; we see this only in aggregate, if at all. The site itself runs no analytics scripts of any kind.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies — none for analytics, none for advertising, none at all. If you click an affiliate link to a partner product, that partner's network may set its own cookie to credit the referral; that cookie is governed by the partner's privacy policy, not ours, and is only set after you leave our site.

The newsletter

The weekly letter is written and sent by Marta Lane / SafeBrowsingCheck and delivered through an email service provider, which stores your address on our behalf for that one purpose. Your address is used only to send you the letter — it is never sold, never rented, and never shared for anyone else's marketing. Every email includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately.

How we use your information

To send the newsletter if you asked for it, to answer your messages, and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we run no profiling of any kind.

Legal bases (GDPR)

Your consent for the newsletter, and our legitimate interest in running a secure website. You can withdraw consent at any time — the unsubscribe link is in every email.

Who we share it with

Only the providers that make the site work: our hosting/CDN provider (Cloudflare) and the email service provider that delivers the newsletter. Affiliate partners receive nothing from us — their cookies exist only if you choose to click their links.

International transfers

Some providers process data in the United States or other countries. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

Newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe; contact messages for as long as needed to handle your request and a reasonable period after.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. EU/EEA/UK residents may also complain to their data-protection authority. California residents may request to know or delete their information and to opt out of any "sale" (we don't sell data) without being treated differently. Children

The site is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

We'll post any updates here with a new effective date.
